Student Ministry Director

Job Description

Objective: The Student Ministry Director is responsible for the overseeing of all student ministry activities for the Northside Campus. The Director will work closely with the Campus Pastor to structure the student ministry meetings and retreats as well as other campus events. They will provide vision and leadership to a team of volunteers, never letting them forget why they do what they do, and why it matters to God.

Some of the duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

TEAM LEADER

Oversee the spiritual development of the volunteer leaders
Recruiting of volunteer student ministry leaders
Provide vision and direction for the student ministry by developing monthly, quarterly and yearly goals with Northside Campus Pastor
Plan execute monthly meetings with volunteer team in order to cast vision and direction for student ministry.

TEAM BUILDER

Continuously recruit and train a team of volunteers or fulfill the student ministry needs of the campus
Invest in the spiritual growth of the student ministry volunteers, and provide care to the team members
Plan team events, meetings outside of Sunday service to build community
Develop goals for the self and student ministry team.

TEAM PLAYER

Work with other campus student ministry directors to plan and execute all retreats throughout the year.
On Sunday mornings coordinate with Campus Pastor and Technical Director to make sure that setup and service are done with excellence.
Attend functions to support other team members including Campus Pastor and Children’s Director.
Other duties as requested by the Northside Campus Pastor

WORKING WITH STUDENTS

Plan activities and talks for Sunday night student ministry meetings
Contact work with students outside of Sunday mornings and Sunday
Attend retreats and other activities designated for students.
Other duties as requested by the Northside Campus Pastor

WORK HOURS

The office hours are Sunday 8:00 am-12:30 pm, Sunday 5:30 pm-8:00 pm, 2-3 hours a week to prepare for Sunday evenings. 3-5 hours a week of contact work, training of volunteer leaders and staff meeting.

This is a part time Director level position. The average work week should encompass no more than 10 to 15 hours per week as the norm. Variances to this schedule need to be approved by the Campus Pastor.
