Rev. Joseph and Linda Wingo, together with their sons Wes and Andy Wingo, are the pastors of Emmanuel Praise Church, a non-denominational church located in Monroe Georgia. They were ordained by the late Rev. John Osteen and the Rev. Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church located in Houston, Texas.

The Wingo family is committed to bringing Christ to others by providing affordable food to those in need in communities throughout the country. Through Angel Food Ministries, their principal of giving others a hand up and not a hand out is the cornerstone of their ministry.

General Information

1.     What is Angel Food Ministries?

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the USA.

2.     What is the cost of the food?

A box of Angel Food can be purchased for $30.

3.     What is the retail value of the box of food?

Depending on your location, a box retails anywhere from $45 to $75 with an average retail value of right around $60.

4.     How much food is in a box?

An average box of food weighs around 21 lbs. The weight may differ each month. A box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single senior citizen for almost a month.

5.     Is the food fresh?

Because of Angel Foods involvement with only the best producers and venders our products are high quality, “name brand” foods - never “seconds” or “day old type” products. Each month’s food menu consists of both fresh and frozen items.

7.     How much food may I purchase?

There is no limit on the number of boxes an individual or family may purchase. Angel Food Ministries also offers the purchase of one or more “Special Units” when buying a regular box of food. The “Specials” are mostly savings on meat boxes. (Special #1: 4lb. Steak Box or Special #2 8 - 8oz. Rib Eye Steaks for $20.00.)

8.     Do I need to qualify for the program?

There are no applications or qualifications, anyone can participate. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp Program, using the Off-Line Food stamp Voucher system. This ensures that the needy in your area are getting the maximum value for their grocery dollar, usually resulting in their receiving twice the amount of quality foods for their “food stamp dollar”.

9.     How successful is the program?

Since January 1995, over 8.1 million families have been affected by Angel Food Ministries. In December of 2007 Angel Food Ministries distributed food to over 2.5 million people in one distribution. 547,000 boxes of food left our warehouse within a three day period, and we are still growing.  Since September 2007, Atlee Community Church has consistently served 100 – 200+ families each month.
